~What did your father do for a living? How did he get to work, what time did he go and get home, did he take lunch, who did he work with?~
WHOA! So many questions!
While I was growing up, my father was a computer programmer for the Boeing (Boring, BOING!, Bowling) Company. He drove the family car to work and left at 8, came home at 5 as far as I can remember. I think he also took a lunch with him.
I only really remember one person that he worked with. Her name was Arlene and she lived in a really cool old house in the heart of the city of Seattle. I remember Arlene because of her faith. She and her family were Jewish. I remember our family going to Synagogue once with her family. I don’t really remember much of the service itself (I think I must have been 7 or so at the time?), but I do remember her kindness and friendship to our family.

This is not a post . . . I repeat . . . NOT a post!
I’ve been asked a few questions in recent comments that I thought I’d take the time to answer/explain here.
First of all, about the “can’t find out the baby’s gender in BC” thing. For those of my readership who aren’t Canadian, in British Columbia (the province James and I lived in when we were first married and where Christopher was born), there are several ethnic groups present who have been known to terminate pregnancies if the baby is a girl. That is the reasoning behind the law. Since obviously the law exists to protect the little ones, I’m all for it!
Still, it was pretty exciting to be able to find out the gender of this little one that will be joining our family within a few short months (YIKES!).
Secondly, about “Mister Linky”. It’s a widget program that can be used to generate lists of links. The reason I was using it was in the hopes that some of you would choose to participate in Family History Fridays on your own blogs, and then would click the “Mister Linky” and share your own blog link with me for that!
Since no one is participating in that way, I decided to omit that.
Lastly, Jo asked if there had been any updates on Kathleen’s situation. Unfortunately, no. The case has gone cold. No one has seen her since that morning nearly 4 months ago. We will probably never know what happened unless they find her body. My heart breaks for her family, and her friends (real and net). I pray that someday we’ll be able to find closure . . . but for now, that looks unlikely. Thanks for asking though, Jo . . . it means a lot!
So, that’s my non-post . . . you may expect a REAL post from me very soon!

~Did you have a favourite subject in school? One you dreaded?~
I don’t know that I really had a subject I particularly dreaded . . . though my Government teacher was a bit unusual . . . Not sure why, but he made me uncomfortable.
A favourite subject? That would have been music for sure. I was in Orchestra every year from middle school (when Orchestra became an actual class you could take) until I was a Sophomore at University. I joined Jazz Choir when I was a Junior in High School and then Concert Choir when I was a Senior. Fun stuff!
Oh! And yes, I’m not putting a Mister Linky up this week. No one’s playing along on their blogs so what’s the point?
