I found this cute tag floating around blogs and Facebook and since Christopher’s off school right now, it’s the perfect time for him to play along. What you do is ask your kid(s) the following questions about yourself:

(C) “Doo” (complete with knuckle “punching” action)
2. What makes mom happy?
(C) dark chocolate
3. What makes mom sad?
(C) I don’t know
4. How does your mom make you laugh?
(C) LOLCats (we share them as a family)
5. What was your mom like as a child?
(C) I don’t know
6. How old is your mom?
(C) 33?
7. How tall is your mom?
(C) I don’t know . . . short?
8. What is her favorite thing to do?
(C) Use the computer
9. What does your mom do when you’re not around?
(C) Use the computer
10. If your mom becomes famous, what will it be for?
(C) Blogging
11. What is your mom really good at?
(C) Blogging!
12. What is your mom not very good at?
(C) Knitting
13. What does your mom do for her job?
(C) Babysitting
14. What is your mom’s favorite food?
(C) Broccoli
15. What makes you proud of your mom?
(C) She’s funny
16. If your mom were a cartoon character, who would she be?

17. What do you and your mom do together?
(C) I don’t know
18. How are you and your mom the same?
(C) We’re both in the same family

The second “Article of Faith” reads as follows:
2 We believe that men will be apunished for their bown sins, and not for Adam’s ctransgression.
Many churches believe that God will punish all of Mankind because of Adam and Eve’s disobedience in the Garden of Eden. We do not believe that this is true. We believe in an impartial God who will punish each person for their own unrepented sins.

First of all . . . thanks so much to the commenters who gave me advice on what is truly needed. I feel like a first-time parent again sometimes, and it was nice to have some more experienced voices giving me advice . . .
Secondly, um . . . YIKES!
Thursday I mentioned that the birth mom said maybe 2 weeks early . . . and I was slightly panicked about that time frame. Yesterday we talked and she says that Zachary is behaving EXACTLY like her son J did when she was about this far along with him . . . and he was born at 35 weeks. Yeah . . . the likelyhood of us having a May baby is very slim . . . and it’s looking more and more like this is going to happen very soon . . . so um yeah . . . *trying to remember how to breathe*
So . . . onto the new/improved/revised baby list of awesome!
Blankets/Bedding ~
receiving blankets ~ getting some from friend K, also a likely gift item
blankets for pack-n-play ~ found out the pack-n-play is Winnie the Pooh and found an adorable blanket on BabiesRUs that I registered for . . . but honestly, doesn’t really matter if it coordinates or not . . . blankets are a likely gift item . . . and I may just buy that Pooh Bear one myself!
crib quilts ~ won’t need those quite yet, will reassess when Zachary is older/next winter
stroller/carseat blanket ~ see above
crib sheets ~ do I need any? BabiesRUs has pack-n-play fitted sheets, but I’m not sure if those are designed for the bassinette feature, or just for the playpen itself . . . might have to do some research on that . . .
swaddle blanket ~ keeping this on the registry for now . . . may change mind later
Feeding Needs ~
burp cloths ~ rethought this after Thursday’s post . . . and Jo also said exactly what I was thinking . . . will just use surplus receiving blankets . . .
4 oz bottles ~ Jo kindly offered to send me some . . . thanks!
8 oz bottles ~ not yet, but probably won’t need those right away anyways . . .
Now, for a quick question to those of you who’ve used the Playtex Nurser system with the “bags” or drop-ins . . . I used them when Christopher was unable to nurse . . . with the “bags” . . . I found the bags kind of a hassle . . . but the drop-ins are twice as expensive . . . is it worth the extra expense to use the drop-ins as opposed to the “bags”?
bottle brush ~ I never thought of using a q-tip to clean the nipples . . . fantastic idea Jo . . . so this is now off my list!
bibs ~ have a plethora
boppy pillow ~ not sure where to get one of these? the ones I saw on the BabiesRUs website are EXPENSIVE!
Diapering ~
changetable pads ~ have 1 for the diaper bag, want 1 for around the house usage . . . on registry
diapers ~ given 4 packs of size 1 yesterday
diaper rash cream ~ given a big tin of Penaten yesterday
diaper wipes ~ given a box of 5 “refills” yesterday . . . just need a dispenser for them . . . and even that’s not a “need” per se
diaper bag ~ check!
diaper pail ~ going to use a lidded garbage can . . . need to go to Wal-Mart next week to pick this up . . . I know I’m a BIG spender!
peepee teepee ~ appreciated Raven’s review and Dawn’s suggestion of placing a wipe there . . . so that’s off the list
knot-it disposable diaper bags ~ why didn’t I think of using ziplocs to keep dirty diapers in when I can’t dispose of them right away? Thanks Dawn!
. . . off the list
Layette ~
sleep sack ~ I think I’m going to wait on that . . . see if Zachary likes being swaddled as much as Christopher did. If so, then I might not use a sleep sack at all.
sleepers ~ will probably pick up a pack next week, but there will be plenty in the things my friends are giving me
onesies ~ have a pack, will be some in the stuff given me, also a likely baby gift item
hat, socks, sweater ~ made a set
socks ~ from J & J
hats ~ from J & J
special outfit ~ from J & J
sweaters ~ from J & J
hangers ~ off the list for now
Washing ~
bath/baby care ~ given baby body/hair wash and lotion yesterday
hooded towels ~ given 2 yesterday
washcloths ~ given 2 6 packs yesterday
brush/comb ~ given a grooming set yesterday
bath toys ~ will wait on this, but bath pal thermometer is still on the list for fun
deluxe nursery set ~ since I was given pretty much everything that is in this set yesterday, it’s off the list
Misc. ~
pain medicine ~ given infant Motrin yesterday
vapourizer ~ Hometown may be drier than Edmonton Jo, but our townhouse is drier than dry . . . this is more of a want than a need on my registry though
thermometer ~ given a spiffy ear one yesterday . . . tried it out on the older family members already!
carseat ~ change of plans on that . . . since our timeline has moved up so drastically, we’re not going to be able to afford to buy the carseat/stroller set that we were going to buy from my boss . . . instead a friend is going to give us a carseat that she doesn’t need anymore
change table/dresser ~ have the dresser I mentioned earlier . . . going to see if I can somehow figure out how both boys can use the dresser . . . move some of Christopher’s things over to a night stand that he’s not using as such right now . . .
rocking chair ~ yeah, I have one and can’t wait to use it for Zachary . . . but no way it’s going to fit in the bedroom . . . he’ll just have to settle for being rocked in the living room!
pacifiers ~ given 2 yesterday
baby swing ~ check!
stroller ~ as mentioned above, not going to buy the one we’d planned on getting . . . will reassess the need for one in a few months
sling ~ still want the one I linked Thursday, but will be fine with the one my friend J is giving me!
pack-n-play ~ other friend J is giving me her old one
activity gym ~ have, and friend K is giving me an old exersaucer
2-pack car shades ~ still on the list . . . but a want rather than a need
memory box ~ thanks for the reminder Rachel . . . have one of these for Christopher, and want to get one for Zachary too . . .
Okay . . . so does this look better to y’all? I can’t believe how much stuff we’re going to be getting for free . . . I’m so blessed to have friends who’re willing to give me their baby stuff that they’re not going to need anymore!
